Raku sculpture – I began working in clay as a child and was fascinated with how freely I could create shapes and meaning with enormous expressive opportunities. On and off over my lifetime, I continued to return to clay work as a relaxing means of creativity that involved very little computer use (other than research). I was not always satisfied with the results of my stoneware or earthenware work. Eventually I found a place of pure joy with hand-building and the raku process of firing my work.
